Back to school

It is that time of year where teaches are back in the trenches at school. They hope that this next legislative year will be better than the last. It is imperative for teachers across washington state to voice concerns that education funding should be the paramount duty of the sate. With decreased funding and more mandates given to teachers it amazes me that more teachers don't leave the profession and look for greener pastures. The reason why teachers teach in the first place is because they cherish the students they work with. I just hope that Olympia will realize this and strengthen the teaching profession with dedicated funding.

Washington DC

Wow my trip to Washington DC was amazing. Seeing memorials such as the Lincoln and Jefferson made me think of what a great country we live in. I think all Americans should go to Washington DC and tour all the sites and sounds. The weather was in the mid 80's which was very comfortable for early July and the food was amazing. The Arlington National Cemetary was very moving especially watching the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown soldier. Lobbying on Capitol Hill was a great experience and meeting with staff to discuss issues was very rewarding. I will be putting up more pictures from my trip shortly until then here is my webpage that contains them http://kelleyvacation2009.shutterfly.com/.
