Washington DC
Wow my trip to Washington DC was amazing. Seeing memorials such as the Lincoln and Jefferson made me think of what a great country we live in. I think all Americans should go to Washington DC and tour all the sites and sounds. The weather was in the mid 80's which was very comfortable for early July and the food was amazing. The Arlington National Cemetary was very moving especially watching the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown soldier. Lobbying on Capitol Hill was a great experience and meeting with staff to discuss issues was very rewarding. I will be putting up more pictures from my trip shortly until then here is my webpage that contains them http://kelleyvacation2009.shutterfly.com/.

Education light in a closed tunnel
It seems in this day and age that creativity is put by the wayside. Students are not getting the daily use of right brain thinking skills that will enable them to get a job in the ever changing market place. It seems no matter what politicians do education is in a dismal state. The solution I propose is something unique and has not been used effectively. We need to have a meeting of the minds from teachers to business leaders to state leaders. There has to be buy in from all stakeholders because yes we are effected all of us by what our children learn in schools. More to come shortly.
